EU-project food on film
Have you always wanted to make your own movie?
We’ll show you how: Attention students and teachers!
Together with three other European environmental film festivals the Innsbruck Nature Film Festival carries out the EU-funded “Food on Film” project.
The overall goal of the project is to stimulate audiences’ interest, especially youth, through a highly inspiring film education format that focuses on the direct impact of the current food system on the issues of climate change and the environment by writing scripts about these topics for short films. The project provides teachers and schools with a modern, digital and interactive educational film format that provides access to many international and national environmental films, documentaries and scientific documents. You only need a smartphone and good ideas.
The classes with the best screen plays will win a 2-day film-making workshop
(worth approx. EUR 5.000,-) to professionally complete their short films. But all films produced by the students will be shown at the Mobile Film Festival in France and at the Innsbruck Nature Film Festival 2025.
Participation is open to all schools and classes (students 16-19 years) that want to explore the topics of food, the environment and climate from an exciting new perspective.
The project starts at the beginning of September 2024 and lasts 2 semesters.
More info is available here or in the presentation.
