WINGS FOR BUTTERFLIES
Der auf Glas gemalte Film entführt in die magische Landschaft der kalifornischen Mammutwälder. Abrupt wird das friedvolle Dasein gestört. Baumgeist, Vogel und Schmetterling versuchen das Gleichgewicht ihres Ökosystems wiederherzustellen. Mit fließenden Übergängen, Bild und Sound gelingt es der jungen Regisseurin/frischen Uniabsolventin Emotionen zu übertragen.

Jury statement
Made with a splendid animation technique, taking inspiration from real life, this film tells, in a poetic but realistic way, a story of nature’s resilience. The interesting use of the sound design without music, manages to grip our focus and attention as audience members. I believe this is a worthy mission of an animated short film and so we felt this film was deserving of an honourable mention.
